These paintings are the result of many working walks through the changing fields and pastures of the Tyne Valley. Grasses and weeds contain such forceful energy and are often overlooked in the wider view of landscape. It is this energy and growth which provides the impetus for these paintings together with a fascination for a 'worm's eye view' through the forest of growth at the fields edge.
