In these paintings my focus is on the overwhelming power and scale of upland terrain. Here the energy is linked to weather, land mass and changing light. The 'worm's eye view' still fascinates but here it is from the top of a ridge or beneath an overhanging rock face. The starting point for these paintings is a sense of insignificance before the power of nature.
